I’ve found that overhead track lighting, with PAR 38 LED bulbs, or Pinspot Lighting from an overhead position are the best options for lighting the hitting area.

With an overhead track lighting setup you can set up multiple lights depending on the size of your golf simulator room. The lights can be adjusted to give you a variety of different ways of lighting the room.
For a basic setup for a small room I would recommend starting with a 4 foot H-Track , and adding three E26 socket fixtures to the track. The track lights should ideally be 5-8 feet from your ball, with the single track running parallel with the wall.
If you require more lighting or have a bigger room, more lights can be added by adding tracks. Additional tracks will need to be connected through a floating canopy connector or an outlet adapter.

Ambient Light
Ambient light refers to any light source that is providing light to your golf simulator room, that is not functional. This can include sunlight, light for another room, or light in the room that is not optimizing the lighting for your simulator setup.
Rooms without windows are ideal for stepping up your golf simulator, but if that’s not possible, good blackout blinds will be necessary to block out any sunlight.
For many rooms with a window, the best place for the simulator screen could be directly in front of the window. If you do opt for the screen in front of a window be sure to put some thick black fabric on the back of the impact screen, failing to do so will have some ambient light bleed through the screen.
